Research image competition

The IAD are holding a Research Image Competition for Researchers at the University of Edinburgh.

We are looking for researchers to submit a photograph or image relating to their research - this could be anything from an abstract image to a photograph of your research. The selected images will be used in the annual IAD brochure for Research Staff and Postgraduate Researchers, along with other promotional materials such as flyers and postcards. The images will be used in both printed paper copies and downloadable resources on the IAD website. The best photo/image will win a £60 voucher.

Competition criteria

  • Images must be generated as a result of research work carried out at the University of Edinburgh within the last three years.
  • Images should not contain research data or contain personal or identifiable information, including the faces of research participants unless consent has been received. Photos of non-identifiable people (e.g. people facing in the other direction) can be submitted
  • Images must be in jpeg/png format, no smaller than 4x6 inches.
  • The competition is open to all postgraduate researchers and research staff at the University of Edinburgh.
  • The use of AI is not permitted
  • Please submit images by noon on Friday 21st June 2024

Judging

A winner will be selected as a result of a vote by IAD staff members. Images will be judged on aesthetic appeal, originality and image quality. The winning image will receive a £60 voucher.
