General principles Keep it simple (at least no more complicated than necessary) Go back to your learning outcomes (LOs): How are they addressed in your teaching where and how are they tested across the course or programme? (Mapping needed) Before you plan the final summative assessment: Have your students already addressed and met some LOs already in coursework? Could they, with some adaptation?
