Workshop design and facilitation

Are you designing a workshop or facilitating an event? Do you represent a University of Edinburgh School, Institute, department, training centre or society? Would you like our help?

IAD can often provide advice and guidance to the University of Edinburgh community. The earlier you can get in contact with us, the more detailed support we can offer. Examples of what we can do include:

  • Initial discussion around your aims and target audience
  • Guidance around effective structure and facilitation
  • Sharing ideas and examples of good practice
  • In some circumstances, co-development and/or co-facilitation of workshops (for instance when it is a pilot for potential wider roll out)

Please note that there may be some costs associated with running workshops. A proportion of the workshops we offer are taught by external facilitators, and there will be a fee if you wish to have their workshop adapted, or delivered for your School. Other costs may be around catering and, in some cases, facilities. We can discuss this with you and advise as appropriate. Another consideration is around availability of facilitators (both external and internal), which can be limited. Again, we can advise.
