Institute for Academic Development support The following are available for students who want to improve their approach to academic work and their general academic skills: Self-study materials Study Hub study development resources are provided on the IAD website. Visit Study Hub For taught postgraduates, pre-arrival guides aimed at easing the transition of students to masters level can be found on our postgraduate-facing webpages: Succeeding at Masters level: advice and guides Workshops Study development workshops on many aspects of learning at University are bookable two weeks in advance via the University events booking website (www.events.ed.ac.uk) or the MyEd events booking channel. Workshop details and booking links can be accessed via our workshop webpages: Workshops for undergraduates Workshops for taught postgraduates One-to-one appointments One-to-one appointments with a Study Development Advisor are available to discuss general issues relating to study and academic work. The appointment will be for 30 minutes; the advisor will work with the student to develop strategies which will enable them to learn and study more effectively. Students should be made aware that Study Development Advisors cannot check or proof read students' work and will not provide subject specific guidance. We do however encourage students to review and reflect on their work before there appointment. Students must request the appointments themselves.
