What is Careers Month?

During June 2026, the Institute for Academic Development Research Staff Career Consultants provide dedicated careers support each week.

Eligibility

Our careers workshops are open to Research staff on fixed term contracts (research assistants and associates, post-docs, and research fellows) and academic teaching staff on fixed term contracts (teaching assistants and teaching fellows). We also support academic staff on open ended contracts with review dates (OERD), this does not include academic staff on open-ended lecturing contracts.

Aims

Careers month was set up to complement our core careers programme, by providing dedicated careers support on popular topics. The month included weekly briefing sessions, quick career 1:1 queries and blog posts.
