Principal applicant: Dr Robert McIntosh Team members: Dr Richard Shillcock; Dr Peter Lamont Abstract Psychology I receives consistently high ratings from its 300+ students, but the students also tell us that the course is relatively passive, emphasising lectures and private reading over participation. To respond to this feedback, we will pilot a novel participatory assignment in the Perception module. The students will learn by an enjoyable process of practical discovery away from the University, but will then need to think hard to distil their understanding of perception into a format suitable to engage the public.
