Dr Hazel Christie Lecturer (University Learning and Teaching) Contact details Work: 651 6669 Email: hazel.christie@ed.ac.uk Role in the IAD I am a member of the IAD’s Learning and Teaching team which provides support to both staff and students across the University in learning, teaching and assessment. My main responsibility within the team is as Programme Director for the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice. An important focus of my work is to raise awareness of the range of CPD opportunities offered within the IAD, and to encourage staff to engage with these. Professional interests My research focuses on the changing nature of the student experience in higher education, with an emphasis on understanding how students become successful learners. I am interested in the emotional dynamics of learning and in how students develop their learner identities. I have worked in a number of Universities in Scotland, both as a lecturer and in student support services.
