Details of The University of Edinburgh NTF and CATE nomination process. Every year the University can nominate up to three members of staff for a National Teaching Fellowship and one team for a Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence. Who is eligible? National Teaching Fellowship Any member of staff who holds a HEA fellowship of any category Any member of staff who teaches or supports learning and can demonstrate outstanding impact on student outcomes And Can demonstrate outstanding impact on the practice of colleagues across the institution and HE sector. Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence A team which can demonstrate outstanding collaborative working And Can demonstrate outstanding impact on student outcomes as well as influencing practice across the institution and sector. How are people selected for nomination? The University of Edinburgh has an internal scheme to support the identification and development of potential nominees. Potential NTFs and CATE teams are identified through a variety of means, such as: Winners of internal UoE teaching excellence awards Winners of EUSA awards Existing visibility within the University Suggested by managers or colleagues Self-identification Aspiring nominees will be asked to complete a mapping exercise to determine if they have enough evidence to be considered for the scheme. Each year there can be up to six aspiring NTFs and two CATE teams working on claims with support from the IAD. From this ‘pool’, up to three individuals and one team with the most potential to succeed will be nominated.
